Buderim residents enjoy a thriving community lifestyle, where sweeping views of the coastline and forested backdrops offer a quiet serenity and where the word community isn’t used flippantly. Community really is the essence of Buderim, where residents form library associations, run craft cottages, start local theatre groups, choirs and garden clubs.
These groups, clubs and organisations are a testament to the strong sense of community in Buderim, and for almost 160 years the village charm of the past century still exists through the presence of boutiques, book stores, cottage gardens and cafes where service still comes with a smile and shopkeepers know your name.
This is a place where people are proud to call Buderim home, whether it is “on top” or set on the gentle slopes of Buderim Mountain.
As a leafy suburb with tree-lined streets, Buderim offers generous-sized blocks, grand old homes, a village centre, specialty shops, established schools, bed and breakfast establishments, several picnic spots amongst forests and parks, and a growing reputation for dining and culture.
While only being about a 10-minute drive from Mooloolaba beach, Buderim is blessed with plentiful parks including Wirreanda Park, Foote Sanctuary, Buderim Village Park and the beautiful Buderim Forest which has its own picturesque waterfall. With walking trails and insta-worthy backdrops, these nature sites are popular with both locals and visitors alike.
Thanks to its elevation, Buderim Mountain offers spectacular sweeping views from the Blackall Ranges across to the Glass House Mountains, while also taking in the ocean views in its panorama.
The area has a hospital, state schools at Buderim and Mountain Creek, five private schools within a 10-minute drive (including Immanuel, Matthew Flinders and Sunshine Coast Grammar), the university at nearby Sippy Downs and the Cooloola Sunshine Institute of TAFE.
Located at the foothills of Buderim is Mountain Creek, an emerging suburb on the Sunshine Coast located between Mooloolaba and Buderim and is bounded by the Mooloolah River to the east. Providing locals with great boating access, the river is also a hot spot for many water sport enthusiasts.
The suburb boasts several lakes that are surrounded by lush parkland and being within close proximity to the beaches of Buddina and Mooloolaba, Mountain Creek consists of a few well-positioned homes that boast prime water views, residential dwellings, units and townhouses.
Families are drawn to the area thanks to the popular “Mountain Creek school zone” with the well-respected primary and high schools and the Cooloola Institute of TAFE in Musgrave Drive. The University of the Sunshine Coast is also in the neighbouring suburb of Sippy Downs and less than 10km away.
The Mountain Creek shopping village is ideally located on Karawatha Drive with a Woolworths, a butcher, cafe and the Mountain Creek Tavern, while more extensive shopping facilities are located in nearby Kawana Shopping world, with Sunshine Plaza an easy drive down the Sunshine Coast Motorway.
The location of both Buderim and Mountain Creek make for easy access en route north towards Noosa or south if you’re heading to Brisbane, while the Sunshine Coast airport is just a 15 minute drive away.
