There are two seaside towns located north of Maroochydore that have managed to retain their village charm reminiscent of what the Sunshine Coast may have looked like in years gone by.
Small beachside towns have been overrun by development and population growth in many coastal corridors, but here in Mudjimba and Marcoola, there are still quiet, residential streets all within walking distance to quiet, uncrowded beaches along the coastal stretch.
An off-leash dog beach will keep your best friend happy, while the waves will keep surfers smiling. Plenty of cafes and eateries are on offer in Mudjimba as well as the Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club which was founded in 1996 from humble beginnings in a shed on a vacant block of land.
Perfect for families, there is a community kindergarten for the young ones and an RSL Club for the older ones; while the sports enthusiasts in the family can take advantage of the Mudjimba MultiSports Complex, Mudjimba Skatepark and of course the Surf Club which welcomes Nippers.
Mudjimba offers a mix of housing styles with both modern new homes and original beach shacks, and all residents benefit from the beautiful surrounding environment.
Twin Waters is a master-planned community at Mudjimba, nestled alongside the Mudjimba Beach and the Maroochy River and is home to Accor’s Novotel Twin Waters with several restaurants, conference centre, and holiday accommodation.
Further up the road in Marcoola, there are quiet barbecue and picnic spots in open grasslands, shady trees and children’s park. Apartment buildings dot the coastline and offer expansive sea views from their prime beachfront vantage point.
Mudjimba and Marcoola are wonderful locations to take advantage of pristine, quiet beaches for a sought-after beachside lifestyle where surfing and fishing can be enjoyed every day. There are also riverfront properties which allow residents to enjoy the riverways for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and other water sport activities.
Located just north of the Maroochy River, these two suburbs are conveniently located close to the Maroochydore airport, about a 15-minute drive to Coolum, and 30-minutes to Noosa.
Each beachside suburb has easy access north to Noosa along the David Low Way or the Sunshine Motorway; while Caloundra and Brisbane to the south is accessible via the motorway and Bruce Highway.
